Paint

I don't really paint flowers.

Or skies.

Or landscapes.

I paint the moments that make me stop.

The ones that ask me to look a little longer.

The ones that quietly remind me how much beauty there is in the everyday, if only we're willing to notice it.

As a little girl, my grandfather would often say, "Annie, with flowers, you're never alone." He wasn't really teaching me about flowers. He was teaching me how to look.

I think I've been painting that lesson ever since.

Mostly oil or acrylic on canvas, approximately 90 x 90 cm.
