Some of my favourite paintings begin with someone saying,

"I wonder..."

From that moment on, we're no longer talking about a commission.

We're exploring an idea together.

It might be inspired by a much loved room, a favourite view, a family story or somewhere that's found a permanent place in your heart. Occasionally, it turns into something I could never have imagined... like painting a swimming pool tucked amongst the rolling hills of Tuscany.

Every commission is different.

That's exactly as it should be.

The best ideas are discovered together.
